Introduction: Purpose of the film, linked with the SERP ‘Street Spirit’ Young P2W Rider Campaign. Explaining that it gives practical advice, in a fully immersive experience, to avoid hazards from some key ‘danger zones’ and manoeuvres involving, Roundabouts, Junctions & Filtering

The riding scenarios are drawn from Safer Essex Roads Partnership data analysis showing the most common P2W collisions involving riders of 16-25 years of age. The viewer will learn about the purpose of the film and the Street Spirit Campaign.

In this opening section, we explain to the viewer exactly what they are about to see and the benefits to them – in terms of skilful and defensive riding leading to reduced risk. The presenter outlines the 3 riding scenarios depicted, why it is in VR and how to make the most of the experience by looking around as you would when riding on the road for real. The key message to be taken away is our own approach on the road can improve our safety and risk of collisions. We must never passport our safety to other road users.
