So, you've picked your VR headsets, We've produced the film and we are out on the road showcasing it - the only thing we haven't done is considered the care and hygiene factors. 

We looked into some studies related to headsets and office hygiene to give you an idea of why cleaning your headsets between uses makes sense. 

Microbiologist, Dr Charles Gerba conducted a study and analysed 7,000 samples from offices, the study found that the most contaminated areas were phones, desks and computer keyboards. Surprisingly, toilet seats consistently had the lowest bacteria levels. reading those findings from the study, makes you wonder what germs used headsets may be carrying?

We've put together a few suggestions on keeping your headset in a clean and good condition:

  1. Keep the lens clean using a soft microfibre cloth - most headsets when new include one of these.

  2. Stock up on alcohol-free sanitising wipes. its good practice wiping your VR headset over after every use.

  3. Recommend users sanitise their hands before and after using the VR headset to prevent contamination. 

  4. Protect your VR headset lenses by applying 'watch glass' protectors - this helps prevent accidental scratches. 

  5. Invest in a carry case for your VR headset - it's highly recommended to keep headsets safety packed away, when not in use.

It is important for the life of your VR Headset that you take care of it, store it properly and keep it clean. But beyond just ensuring you get the most use possible out of your purchase before having to replace it, it will also ensure that you and your users remain healthy and free of unpleasant illnesses.
